With the 2021 league year beginning on Wednesday, teams around the NFL have begun signing their veteran players to new deals. The Chicago Bears are no different, as the team retained safety Deon Bush today.
Bush will return to Chicago for his sixth season with the team. A quality depth player and special teams ace, Bush has appeared in 65 games for the Bears, including eight career starts. With starting safety Tashaun Gipson currently without a deal, Bush could potentially be in line to start next season.
It’s worth noting that the 2016 fourth-round pick has worked extensively with new defensive coordinator Sean Desai. Desai served as the Bears safeties coach in 2019 and 2020.
