The Blackhawks were busy with roster moves on Tuesday morning ahead of their game against the Florida Panthers. The team elevated six players from the Rockford IceHogs to the taxi squad.
Of the six players elevated, five of them have appeared in at least one game for the Blackhawks this season. Nicolas Beaudin and Lucas Carlsson have both appeared in 12 games, recording five points and one point, respectively.
As for the rest of the group, Reese Johnson has played five games, Madison Bowey has played two, and Wyatt Kalynuk has played one. MacKenzie Entwistle has yet to appear in a game for the Blackhawks. However, that is set to change on Tuesday night.
Entwistle was acquired by the Blackhawks in the Marian Hossa’s trade that sent his contract to the Arizona Coyotes. The 21-year-old was drafted in the third round, 69th overall by the Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Draft, which was ironically held in Chicago. Now, Entwistle will debut in the same building he was drafted in.
The Blackhawks also sent four players back to Rockford, sending forwards Mikael Hakkarainen, Brandon Pirri, and John Quenneville and defenseman Alec Regula to their AHL affiliate. Of the four mentioned, only Pirri has appeared in a game this season.
The Blackhawks are in action on Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers at the United Center. Tuesday is the first Blackhawks home game since March 7 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM CDT.
