With MLB Opening Day right around the corner, Cubs’ manager David Ross announced Kyle Hendricks will get the start. This is Hendricks’ second Opening Day start after starting the 2020 season as well.
Last season, Hendricks threw a gem on Opening Day. On July 24, 2020 against the Milwaukee Brewers, Hendricks went all nine innings, allowing three hits, no walks, and striking out nine batters. Orlando Arcia recorded all three hits for the Brewers.
