According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Chicago Bulls have traded for Orlando Magic All-Star center Nikola Vucevic and small forward Al Farouq Aminu.
In exchange, the Bulls will reportedly send Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr., and two first-round picks to the Magic. In 44 games this season, Vucevic is averaging 24.5 PPG,11.5 RPG, and 3.8 APG. The two-time NBA All-Star is signed through the 2022-23 season. Al Farouq Aminu has only appeared in 17 games this season and his contract runs through the 2021-22 NBA season.
This move shows that the Chicago Bulls are in win-now mode. Adding one of the best centers in the NBA in Vucevic exemplifies that Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley are looking to make this Bulls team compete for years to come. Wojnarowski also noted that the Bulls are still in hot pursuit of Lonzo Ball.
Stay tuned for further updates as the NBA trade deadline closes in at 2 PM CDT.
