On Wednesday, Ohio State quarterback and potential top ten pick Justin Fields hosted his second pro day before the draft. Many expected representatives from teams in the top half of the draft to be in attendance. What many didn’t expect was a previously unreported team in attendance: the Chicago Bears.
More specifically, head coach Matt Nagy.
While it’s obvious the Bears are desperate for a quarterback, it would appear they have their focus on the top prospects in the draft. They’ve been spotted at workouts for quarterbacks such as Mac Jones and Trey Lance, who both have top 15 potential. Does this signal the teams willingness to move up for a player like Fields?
For experts and fans alike, it could be worth the investment. Fields has 5700 passing yards career passing yards, 67 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. He also has amassed 1,133 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground in his three seasons of college ball.
