Tim Anderson officially makes his return to the active roster. The White Sox bats scored eight in Carlos Rodón’s no-hitter on Tuesday night, but it was obvious they were missing their spark plug at the top of the lineup.
Anderson will slot back into the lineup at shortstop with Danny Mendick and Leury García primarily coming off the bench. In the move, they also designated Nick Williams for assignment. His wRC+ of 2 and OBP of .231 was not enough to fill into this roster.
Before Anderson’s injury, he was batting .200 with a long home run. However, the White Sox are hoping now that he’s back, he can be a much bigger contributor offensively than he was in the first four games before he was injured.
