Ahead of tonight’s series and homestand opener against the Texas Rangers, the Chicago White Sox are getting some outfield depth back in the mix.
The club reinstated Billy Hamilton from the ten-day injured list and optioned reliever Alex McRrae to the Schaumberg alternate training site.
Hamilton suffered a hamstring strain during a game on April 7th against the Seattle Mariners and landed on the injured list the next day. The speedy outfielder went 3-11 with one RBI, two walks, and two stolen bases through six games before the injury occurred.
As for the corresponding move, White Sox initially recalled McRrae on Tuesday upon optioning Zack Burdi. McRae did not appear in the White Sox contest against Cleveland on Tuesday before inclement weather caused the postponement of the series finale. McRae will head back to the alternate training site with Hamilton returning to the White Sox roster.
