I have been consolidating big boards for the past three drafts. This year, I figured I would share the file so you can see where each analyst had each pick ranked in real time with ease. This file includes 12 big boards in total, eight big boards that are available to the public and four big boards that are behind pay walls. I have hidden the identity of the boards behind pay walls. Link to the file is below, shared through google drive:
If you choose to download this file, you can sort, edit, adjust, and recreate the tables basically any way you desire. The only thing that I ask is that you give a good faith follow @ButkusStats and @OnTapSportsNet on Twitter.
Now, enough self-promotion. Some explanation and a summary of the top 50 on that big board can also be found below.
Players with their names highlighted in green returned a RAS score north of 8.00. RAS stands for relative athletic score, and is based on their measurements and athletic testing. The “Conf” column is simply a percentage of how many of the big boards featured that player.
Players with their names, position, or college highlighted in red have either battled significant injuries, or lack experience starting in college.
Players with their names highlighted in yellow have had a character flag raised. This means that I either found a scouting report that mentioned the word “arrested”, or that questioned their character in any way on one of these big boards.
So what do we does it look like if a player has elite athletic traits, medical questions, and a character flag? That players name would be in green, his position would be red, and his college would be yellow.
If a player has elite athletic traits and a character flag? His name would be in green and his position and college would be in yellow.
Now, there are a lot of tabs in here. One for each position group. These tabs present each player’s RAS, measurements, athletic testing, and some relevant stats to their position. Just as a note, I divided up the positions a little bit differently in the master table and added a handful of players after I had sorted all of this out, so it may be a few guys who should be listed as edge in iDL, should be listed as iOL that are in OT, and a few players who are not listed in this section. Data detailed below:
I fully understand that this is a psychotic level of data, and that I may have a problem. Follow on twitter @ButkusStats for more of this type of data.
