Hallelujah! Zach LaVine is set to return tonight against the Charlotte Hornets after missing the last 11 games for the Chicago Bulls. LaVine landed on the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocol list on April 15th after contracting COVID-19.
The Bulls went 4-7 in Zach LaVine’s absence, and at times struggled to score the ball without their most dynamic point producer. LaVine is averaging 27.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 53 games this season. He has also only played ten games with recently acquired All-Star center Nikola Vucevic.
When asked yesterday about the possibility of not returning for the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season, LaVine replied, “I’m not that type of guy. Obviously, if that conversation comes up, it won’t be coming from me.”
The Chicago Bulls received some help last night with the Washington Wizards and the Indiana Pacers both losing their contests. The Bulls now sit four games back of the tenth seed for the NBA Playoffs Play-In round. LaVine seems motivated to help his team close the distance and to try and make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
