Eddie Jackson went on Instagram live and said that he will be wearing the #4 moving forward.
Don’t worry Bears fans, this isn’t a tribute to Brett Favre. Eddie Jackson wore the number 4 during his NCAA career at the University of Alabama. Looking back on it, it’s a little crazy that Jackson fell all the way to the fourth round. In his last two years at Alabama he had seven interceptions, three of which went for touchdowns, and two more punt return touchdowns.
Luckily for Eddie Jackson, the #4 isn’t one of the single digit numbers already retired by the Bears. Maybe switching from 39 to 4 will help him get lost in the shuffle so quarterbacks don’t throw to the opposite side of the field. Even though Eddie Jackson had two interception touchdowns taken off the board last year, he seemed to drop a couple of interceptions he wouldn’t have in years previous. Maybe a new quarterback and number reset can get him back into All-Pro form.
