After six weeks of the MLB season, the Chicago White Sox find themselves atop the league’s power rankings after placing third the previous week.

MLB released their weekly power rankings on Monday and gave White Sox fans a solid start to their week by featuring the south side as the best team in baseball.

The White Sox are fresh off a 5-2 home stand that included a sweep of the Minnesota Twins and a series split with the Kansas City Royals. The club is 8-2 in their last ten games and holds the league’s best record at 24-15. Additionally, their run differential of +61 is the best in the bigs and has been for quite some time.

The White Sox thought they suffered another blow when Jose Abreu collided with Royals’ Hunter Dozier, but this turned out to be something the team rallied around as they fought back on Sunday afternoon and walked off their opponent in the ninth. Some days the offense went quiet, others saw the pitching staff wobble a bit, but one thing has held true since the beginning of the season: The White Sox are a resilient group and their next-man-up mentality has carried them to where they are at this point.

Chicago begins a three-game set in Minnesota on Monday before a day off on Thursday. They’ll use that day to get ready for a road series with the New York Yankees over the weekend.
