The Chicago Cubs have purchased the contract of Tyler Ladendorf from the High Point Rockers, per the team.
Ladendorf went to Main West High School, in Des Plaines, IL. He was drafted in the 34th round of the 2006 Amateur draft by the New York Yankees, and the 34th round of the 2007 draft by the San Francisco Giants. He did not sign with either team. In the 2008 draft, he was picked in the 2nd round by the Minnesota Twins and signed with them.
The Chicago Cubs are the 7th MLB organization Ladendorf has been a part of, having spent time with Minnesota, Oakland, Chicago (AL), Toronto, Arizona, and Tampa Bay previously. His most recent professional season was in 2020 for the Chicago Dogs.
Ladendorf slashed .223/.294/.461 for the season over 232 plate appearances. He hit 13 home runs and drove in 38 batters on the season. The Cubs purchased his contract before the 2021 Atlantic League season had begun.
The Cubs have not announced where he’ll report to in their organization. Once they do we’ll update it here.
