Chicago Beaches Reopening

After being shut off for over a year due to COVID-19, Chicago is finally opening up its beaches to the public again. While the weather may not be optimal this weekend, it is a sign that warmer weather is on the horizon.

Navy Pier Fireworks

With Navy Pier reopening, there will be ten-minute firework shows taking place every Saturday in May beginning at 9:00 PM. The show is free of charge and you’ll be able to take in the display from any open areas on the Pier.


Chris Redd

Chris Redd stars on “Saturday Night Live.” (Space Ballroom)

Actor, writer, stand-up comic, and rapper Chris Redd comes to town for a weekend of shows. Redd is know for being one of the cast members on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”.

Future Concerts


Lollapalooza and Riot Fest both announced their full lineups for the summer. This has been the largest piece of positive news for the music industry here in Chicago since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

Sporting Events

Here are all the sporting events involving Chicago-affiliated teams taking place this weekend. The Cubs and White Sox remain at their limited capacity guidelines that have been in place since Opening Day, but both will increase attendance to 60% capacity beginning on May 24 for the White Sox and May 28th for the Cubs.


White Sox (29-20) vs. Orioles (17-33), at Indians (27-21)

Red Stars (1-1-1) vs. Houston Dash (0-1-2)

The Red Stars chalked up their first win of the year on Wednesday. Kealia Watt and Makennzy Doniak are coming off of strong performances. Chicago Dogs Home Opener

The Chicago Dogs open up the year with a huge home stand. Be sure to partake in the fun of Chicago’s minor league baseball team. This year their opening giving away mustard bottle costumes and full-size bottles of Vienna Beef mustard to all fans.
