Sean Farrell of the Chicago Steel is the 2021 USHL Player of the Year, the League announced Monday.

Farrell scored a USHL-high 101 points (29 goals, 72 assists) in 53 regular-season games. The Montreal Canadiens prospect (2020 fourth round) is the second player in USHL history to reach the 100-point mark in a single season.

He added 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in eight playoff games to help the Steel win the Clark Cup.

Farrell set the Steel records for most points (101) and assists (72) in a single season, as well as in a career with 157 points and 113 assists. He also set the USHL single-season point streak record at 24 games, scoring 37 points (15 goals, 25 assists) during his point streak.

Farrell was expected to play this past season at Harvard, but he returned to the Steel because the Ivy League did not allow athletic events to be played. He will join the Crimson next season as a freshman along with Steel teammates Jack Bar, Matt Coronato, and Ian Moore (Anaheim Ducks). Steel alum Nick Abruzzese (Toronto Maple Leafs) will be a junior with the Crimson as well.
