He’s officially here. Arlo White, who you probably have heard call Premier League matches for NBC, will call play-by-play for four Chicago Fire matches across June and July.
White’s first game in the booth will be on June 19 as the Fire play the last game in Historic Crew Stadium. White will then call games from Soldier Field on June 23 against FC Cincinnati and June 26 against Philadelphia Union. White’s final game for the Fire this season will be on July 3, a home match against Atlanta United.
“I’ve got a commentator’s golden ticket,” White told Hot Time In Old Town, “It really does feel like that. It’s a dream situation for me.”
White’s favorite U.S. city is Chicago, and it’s not even close. The Leicester, England native has been coming to the Windy City during the summers since he was a teenager as he has had family living here. White is a massive Bears and Cubs fan along with his beloved Leicester City.
Tony Meola will remain in the broadcast booth as the Fire’s color commentator while Tyler Terens will be providing insight from the sidelines.
After the previously mentioned four matches, White will be heading back to England for a bit of a rest and to get ready for the upcoming Premier League season.
