Chicago Fire midfielder Luka Stojanović received his green card yesterday, joining striker Robert Berić who recently received his green card as well.

Patrick McCraney of Hot Time In Old Town reported Stojanović was set to be a green card recipient last week, and the Chicago Fire confirmed the report yesterday.

The green card sees Stojanović acquire permanent resident status in the U.S., and no longer occupy an international player spot on the Fire roster.

The Fire now has seven of its eight international roster slots currently occupied, meaning the club could sign one more player in the upcoming transfer window that begins July 7.

The seven international players under contract for the 2021 season are: Ignacio Aliseda, Jhon Espinoza, Gastón Giménez, Stanislav Ivanov, Chinonso Offor, Boris Sekulić, and Carlos Terán.

Stojanović leads the Fire in goals (3) and goals per 90 minutes (0.69) this season.
