Main Event and Co-Main Event Odds:
The Korean Zombie vs. Dan Ige Main Event Odds: BetRivers Illinois Sportsbook lists Zombie at +110 (risk $100 to win $110) and Ige -134 (risk $134 to win $100).
In the co-main event, Sergey Spivac faces Aleksei Oleinik in a battle of heavyweight contenders. BetRivers Illinois Sportsbook lists Spivac -240 (risk $240 to win $100) and Oleinik + 185 (risk $100 to win $185).
Main Event: The Korean Zombie vs. Dan Ige
Rundown: This Saturday night’s UFC fight night card features two featherweight contenders: the fourth-ranked Chan Sung Jung (The Korean Zombie) vs. eighth-ranked Dan Ige. This main event fight features a 34-year-old veteran in The Korean Zombie, who is looking to bounce back from a tough decision loss to Brian Ortega. The Korean Zombie is looking to make his way into the mix to fight for the featherweight title, but standing in his way is a young 29-year-old featherweight fighter in Dan Ige. He recently climbed into the rankings last year and is coming off a 22-second knockout victory against Gavin Tucker. Dan Ige is in a better position to contend for the title, as he is gaining momentum and looks to take out The Korean Zombie, whose back is against the wall, needing this victory to try and make it to a title fight.
Chitown Locks (@LocksChitown) predictions: The Korean Zombie is a proven knockout artist who has plenty of experience under his belt, and he is fighting to stay in contention for the belt. Ige is a big-time scrapper who can wrestle and work the body with surprising power behind his throws. It can be a battle for Ige if it primarily comes down to exchanging blows and kicks, as The Korean Zombie has a length and reach advantage with a lot of power behind his punches and leg kicks.
I believe Ige continues his climb up the ranks and carries the momentum tonight as he focuses on getting The Korean Zombie to the ground, where he struggles the most. I am taking Dan Ige money line -134. I like Ige to win in decision by working the body and tiring out the veteran Sung Jung.
Backing Dan Ige Money line -134
Co-Main Event: Aleksei Oleinik vs. Serghei Spivac
Oleinik is coming off a loss to Chris Daukaus, who ended him in the first round with a blow to the head. Oleinik is more of a skilled fighter as he goes for more submissions than knockouts. Spivac is coming off a dominant win over Jared Vanderaa, a fight in which he ended him with a knockout in round two.
Spivac has been a bit inconsistent as of late but can still be very dominant from start to finish. He relies heavily on his jab, takedowns, and ground-and-pound game. Oleinik has been trending downward, and I believe Spivac controls the fight and knocks out Oleinik in the early rounds. I am taking Serghei Spivac -240.
Backing Serghei Spivac Money line -240
The Rest of The Fight Night Card
Davey Grant vs. Marlon Vera bantamweight fight odds: BetRivers Illinois Sportsbook lists Grant at +180 (risk $100 to win $180) and Vera at -230 (risk $230 to win $100).
I predict Davey Grant to get the job done and upset Marlon Vera. Vera is coming off a tough loss to Jose Aldo and Grant is coming off a second straight knockout win, dropping Jonathan Martinez in round two. I do not believe Vera will bounce back from a tough loss to Aldo, and Grant is flying high from three straight victories. I expect a long grueling fight that will go the distance.
Backing Davey Grant Money Line +180
Julian Erosa vs. Seungwoo Choi featherweight fight odds: BetRivers Illinois Sportsbook lists Erosa at +120 ($100 to win $120) and Choi at -150 (risk $150 to win $100).
Both fighters have won their last two fights. I believe Julian Erosa will continue his impressive winning streak and show off his versatility against Choi. I feel like he will break down Choi and win it in decision. I expect an underdog victory.
Backing Julian Erosa Money Line +120
