Ahead of tonight’s game versus the Cleveland Indians, MLB.com Cubs writer Jordan Bastian tweeted out the Cubs four probable starting pitchers for the four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A scuffling Cubs team will likely start Zach Davies, Jake Arrieta, Alec Mills, and Adbert Alzolay against the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs swept the Dodgers in a three-game series at Wrigley Field in May where they faced Clayton Kershaw, Trevor Bauer, and Walker Buehler.
Only one of these four starting pitchers have a win in their last start and that belongs to Alec Mills, who silenced the Miami Marlins for five innings on Fathers Day. It will be as important as anything for the Cubs to get good starts from these guys against a really good Dodgers team for the Cubs to even have a chance at a 2-2 series split.

Why do they bat Pedersen Bryant ,and Baez leading off the game, that’s like giving the opponent an easy warm up inning.,3 strickouts in a row. When are they going to get somebody that can get on base?
The issue with the Cubs roster as a whole is strikeouts, that’s an issue 1-9 in the order so you have to put your best hitters at the top regardless of that. Pederson 1 And Bryant 2 Has worked this season, beyond that I agree with your sentiment and maybe I’d like to see it go Rizzo 3, Willy 4 and Javy 5
“against the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers” – have you checked the standings this season? LOL.
