The Chicago White Sox (45-32) are hosting the Minnesota Twins (33-43) at Guaranteed Rate Field for a four-game series. The Chicago White Sox are coming off another lost series, this time to the Seattle Mariners which saw the White Sox lose two of three games. The Minnesota Twins are coming off yet another series victory against the Cleveland Indians. The Twins took two of three in the series and are 7-3 in their last ten games. They currently are 10 games below .500.

Health has been a big concern for the White Sox this season. It seems everyone keeps getting bit by the injury bug. Jose Abreu was drilled in his knee in the first game of Sunday’s double-header against the Mariners. X-Rays were negative for a fracture, but there is no news on when he will be back at this time.

If Abreu is out for an extended period of time, the Sox need to find a way to generate offense. The White Sox’s seven runs in the series finale was the most they have scored in a game since their June 16th victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. The pitching has been solid all year, now it’s time for the bats to heat up.
