Another Chicago White Sox player heads to the Injured List as Jake Lamb has been placed on the 10-day IL. Lamb suffered an injury to his right quadriceps. On the season, Jake Lamb is slashing .224/.333.424. Lamb has hit five home runs and driven in ten runs.
The White Sox also optioned outfielder Luis Gonzalez back to Triple-A Charlotte. In six games with the White Sox this year, Gonzalez is slashing .250/.455/.500. He has two hits in eight at-bats, both of which were doubles.
Gavin Sheets makes his return to the Major League level for the White Sox as well. Sheets was called up on June 3, 2021 but did not appear in a game for the White Sox. On the season for the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate Charlotte Knights, Sheets is slashing .292/.352/.472. He has hit seven long balls and driven in 33. The White Sox could sure use a productive left-handed bat in the lineup. Hopefully, Sheets can provide that.
The last roster move the Chicago White Sox made was reinstating Billy Hamilton from the Injured List. Billy was lost on June 6 with an oblique injury. It was reported that when Billy does return to the Chicago White Sox lineup, he will be batting right-handed only. Billy is a switch-hitter, but due to this injury the White Sox will have him only bat from the right side exclusively. It’s great to see the fan-favorite return to the south side.
