Yasmani Grandal briefly returned to the White Sox lineup Monday night in Minnesota. Unfortunately for the injury-ridden Chicago White Sox, his return was short-lived. Grandal left the game in the top of the 6th inning with a strained left calf muscle.
Yasmani Grandal hit .260 with eight home runs, 18 RBI’s, and 18 runs scored in the month of June. The 32-year-old catcher has been an important staple in the White Sox lineup that can’t seem to catch a break from the injury bug. This injury seems to be an aggravation of the previous injury that kept Yasmani out of the lineup over the last few games against the Detroit Tigers. The official update from the White Sox at this time is that he will be further evaluated.
Seby Zavala is currently on the road trip with the White Sox and figures to step in should Grandal require an IL stint.
