Yoan Moncada is back in the lineup for the Chicago White Sox. After missing the weekend series in Detroit with an injured hand, Moncada pronounced himself “ready to go” after batting practice at Target Field on Monday afternoon. This follows the timeline that White Sox Manager Tony LaRussa provided on Sunday afternoon for Moncada’s return.
Yoan Moncada injured his hand in Thursday afternoon’s matchup against the Minnesota Twins while attempting to slide into third base. He remained in the game and scored a run, but was replaced in the field by Andrew Vaughn after further evaluation in the dugout.
Moncada is slashing .280/.403/.797 with five home runs and 35 RBI’s, and avoiding an IL stint is welcome news. The White Sox roster is currently decimated by injuries, and after a rough weekend in Detroit, having his bat back in the lineup is a welcome relief.
