The fourth episode of ‘Loki’ had A LOT going on. We learned we know less about the TVA than we initially thought, and that when the TVA prunes someone they may not die as we first suspected. We now have more questions than answers at this point, perfect for some theories! I feel good about my “the Timekeepers are just puppets like the Wizard head in Wizard of Oz” take, but may have been a bit overzealous in connecting ‘Wedding Crashers’ to the MCU.
The theories below are merely speculation based on watching the show, a spoiler warning is in effect all the same. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some Loki theories, week four.
The Loki Variants are like the Lost Boys from Hook, and our Loki is gonna become their Rufio
Episode four gave us the first post-credits scene, and boy was it a doozie. Judge Renslayer prunes Loki right as he has an emotional breakthrough. We’d been led to believe that this was the death of a character. With Loki getting zapped it seemed like that was unlikely, and the post-credit scene appears to have confirmed that. Loki lands on a foreign land and sees a group of Loki variants in front of him. One was even an alligator! They confirm to him that he is not dead, but that he needed to come with them if he wanted to live. Very Kyle Reese of them.
My theory is that this flock of Loki’s is gonna crew up and take the battle to the “real” TVA, and now that our Loki is there he’s gonna lead them like Rufio led the Lost Boys. Hopefully they really lean into this and show Loki fly, fight, and crow.
Pruned people go to a pocket dimension, similar to The Island Of Misfit Toys
It looks like pruning and killing are different things. But where is it that they actually go? My theory is that the entity behind the TVA is taking all of the variants on their “sacred timeline” and dropping them elsewhere to not mess up the plan. Like when Rudolph the Reindeer and Hermey the Elf discover The Island Of Misfit Toys in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The variants are dropped somewhere, never to be heard from again. Will our Loki’s have a chance to prove their worth just like Charlie-in-a-box and Spotted Elephant did?
With two episodes left time, is ticking down for a resolution. The show Loki is setting us up for utter madness, some might even call it a Multiverse of Madness.
