The Chicago White Sox has announced that outfielder Eloy Jimenez will be moving on up to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

Eloy Jimenez started his rehab assignment last week after his injury he suffered in spring training. On March 24, Eloy suffered an injury while trying to make an over-the-wall catch in left field in a spring training matchup. The young star ruptured his left pectoral tendon and underwent surgery on March 31.

Eloy started a rehab assignment in High-A Winston-Salem for the Dash. Eloy appeared in two games for the club. In eight plate appearances with the Dash, Eloy slashed .429/.500/.857. Jimenez hit one home run and drove in two in his time in Winston-Salem.

Now, the White Sox are moving Eloy on up to Triple-A Charlotte to continue his rehab stint. It is only a matter of time before Eloy is called up to the major league club as he seems fully healthy and ready to contribute to the Chicago White Sox, who currently sit in first place in the American League Central. Eloy Jimenez has not suited up for the Charlotte Knights since 2019. Eloy’s career slash line in Charlotte is .352/.392./.588.
