The Chicago Bulls are signing 2020 second-round pick Marko Simonovic to a contract. It was reported a few days ago that Simonovic had an interest in joining the Bulls for the 2021-22 NBA Season. It now seems that the two sides have reached a deal.
Last year in the Adriatic league, Simonovic posted 15.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Marko shot 47% from the field and 32% from downtown. This could be the replacement for Lauri Markkanen, as it seems he is on his way out of Chicago. Marko played for KK Mega Bemax, the same team that 2021 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic did in his time overseas. Both of which were draft picks by Chicago Bulls EVP of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas.
If you haven’t read much on Marko, or seen him play, I will provide a video down below. Marko posses a quick-release jump shot and has the ability to score off the pick-and-pop. Simonovic also can play above average in the pick-and-roll game. This is fantastic news as the Chicago Bulls are looking for diverse non-positional players under their new leadership.
