On Monday afternoon, the NFL issued a memo in regards to their NFL Network preseason broadcast schedule. Of course, its great news for Chicago Bears fans. Especially for those outside of the Chicagoland area.
The NFL network will air all three of their preseason games this coming August. Of course, FOX32 Chicago will provide the local broadcast as well for those within the Chicagoland broadcast zone.
Here is a look at the Bears preseason schedule:
|1||8/14||12pm CDT||vs. Miami Dolphins||FOX32 Chicago/NFLN|
|2||8/21||12pm CDT||vs. Buffalo Bills||FOX32 Chicago/NFLN|
|3||8/28||6pm CDT||at Tennesse Titans||FOX32 Chicago/NFLN|
However, the second preseason game between the Bills and Bears will be of significance as well. It will be the return of Mitchell Trubisky to Soldier Field. Trubisky will likely play majority of the snaps in this game.
Nevertheless, the Bears-Titans matchup in Week 3 will be the final tune up game of the preseason. This game will consist of a bunch of guys on the bubble looking to finalize their spot on the 53-man roster.
Change in Schedule
The NFL expanded the regular season schedule from seventeen weeks to eighteen weeks starting in 2021. As a result, the preseason has been shortened from four games to three games. Now, whether the illustrious week three dress rehearsal game will remain in place or be pushed up to week two remains to be seen.
Overall, Bears fans all over the country will get to see enough of the “Monsters of the Midway” being led by their brand new, rookie quarterback. Even with one less preseason game, the Bears will be national for all three games.
