It has been a record breaking season for Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu.

After tying legend Carlton Fisk in career home runs in a White Sox uniform this past weekend, it was only a matter of time before Abreu passed him.

On Monday night, in the second game of a doubleheader, Abreu went deep against the Minnesota Twins, cementing his place in White Sox history.

The 413-foot bomb gave Abreu his 17th home run of the season. It also places him just behind sluggers Frank Thomas, Paul Konerko, and Harold Baines on the team’s all-time home run list.

Elite company indeed.
