The Chicago Bulls are continuing to scout prospects for the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. Without a first-round pick, it is even more important for the Bulls to do as much work as possible to identify possible diamonds in the rough. Here at On Tap Sports Net, we have identified five guard prospects and five forward prospects to watch for come draft time. Beyond those, the Bulls are looking heavily into potential undrafted free agent options.

According to Daniel Greenberg, the Bulls have shown interest in St. Louis University guard Jordan Goodwin.

Who is Jordan Goodwin?

Goodwin is coming into the NBA Draft as a senior out of Saint Louis University. His specialty is on the defensive side of the court. For the 2020-21 season, Goodwin averaged 2.0 steals per game. Over the course of his career, he never averaged less than 1.8 steals per game, and he picked up 8.5 defensive win shares. He also showed out on the boards all four years. After averaging 7.5 rebounds per game as a freshman and as a sophomore, Goodwin hauled in 10.4 and 10.1 per game during his junior and senior seasons, respectively.

The combo guard scored 15.5 points per game as a junior and 14.5 as a senior. Even so, his shooting is a rough patch in his game. In the 2020-21 season, he shot a career-high 31.4% from three. Sometimes, good free-throw shooting percentages can be a sign of a shot that can be developed. However, Goodwin’s career-high in free-throw percentage is 69.1%, which came during his freshman season. As a senior, he shot 64.3% from the line.

Fit on the Bulls

If the Bulls are interested in Goodwin, it would not be with their 38th overall pick. For the most part, you will not find Goodwin’s name on any mock drafts at all. As a result, the Bulls would have the chance to add Goodwin as an undrafted free agent. Goodwin would not have a spot available for him on the current roster outside of possibly playing some garbage-time minutes. If the Bulls sign Goodwin, look for it to be as a signing to primarily supplement depth in the G-League.
