Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo are reporting that the Chicago Bears have agreed to trade Anthony Miller to the Houston Texans.
Anthony Miller played all three of his NFL seasons in Chicago and had a breakout year in 2018. In 2018, he had a career-high seven touchdowns alongside, oddly enough, a career-low 423 receiving yards. Over the last two seasons, Miller has been a rollercoaster of disappointment. He only managed to catch four touchdowns while netting a bit over 1,000 yards receiving.
What The Bears Get
In exchange for the 26-year-old wide receiver, the Bears and Texans are also exchanging late-round picks. This new development finally gives a conclusion to a rumor dating back all the way to March. Anthony Miller brings a one-year, $1.2 million contract and is an unrestricted free agent after the 2021 season.
The Bears trading Anthony Miller with late-round pick swaps is the first step of many in cleaning up the offense for the young quarterback Justin Fields. The additions of Dazz Newsome, Dameire Byrd, and Marquise Goodwin made the chances of Miller making the roster already slim.
