With free agency looming upon the Chicago Bulls, they have been tied to another player. While the biggest news is Lonzo Ball and Derrick Rose, Bryn Forbes’ name has surfaced. Bleacher Report’s Jack Fischer said that the Bulls and Nets are both pursing Forbes with the Nets being the favorite, but still said the Bulls were a viable option.
Forbes declined his player option with the Bucks earlier this week. The Bucks’ sharpshooter had a three-point percentage of 45.2%, which was fourth best in the entire NBA for over 200 attempts. He averaged 10.0 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game, and averaged 19 minutes per game last year.
Forbes would fill a huge need for the Bulls in a three point threat role. The Bulls were thirteenth when it came to three point percentage and seventeenth when it came to three pointers attempted. Playoff experience also needs to be factored in. Forbes just completed a historic championship run with the Bucks and that experience could be shared with the Bulls young core.
With Forbes on the Bulls roster, he would be slotted behind Zach LaVine at shooting guard. He would also get ample minutes with Coby White recovering from surgery due to an injury.
Before playing with the past year with the Bucks Forbes played four seasons with the Spurs.
