Matt Nagy delivered some good news for Chicago Bears fans on Monday. The team returns two members of their organization for the start of the second week of training camp.

First, quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo returned from COVID-19 protocol. Notably, DeFilippo was not physically present at training camp last week. However, he was likely there virtually, similarly to how Nagy was during OTAs.

Furthermore, the most important return of the day was that of Dazz Newsome. The team activated the rookie wide receiver from the PUP list.

Newsome suffered a broken collarbone during OTAs in early June. However, the Bears will ease Newsome back in as he comes off the injury. The 2021 sixth-round pick out of North Carolina is expected to compete for one of the final spots at WR.

Nevertheless, his return will finally give him a chance to showcase his talents and even bolster the WR corps that saw the recent departure of Anthony Miller.

In addition to the good news, there was unfortunately bad news. Rookie tackle Teven Jenkins is not practicing once again with back tightness.

Despite the bad news, it is encouraging hearing that Jenkins is moving in the right direction. Jenkins will be a major piece on the offensive line this season after the departure of Charles Leno Jr.
