The Chicago Bulls have finally landed the point guard they have been aggressively pursuing. Since the 2021 NBA trade deadline, the Bulls have been chasing after New Orleans Pelicans’ guard Lonzo Ball. First reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic and later confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bulls and Lonzo Ball have agreed to a four-year, $85 million deal as part of a sign-and-trade agreement. The fourth year of the deal also includes a player option, according to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
As noted in the tweets above, Ball’s deal with the Bulls will be part of a sign-and-trade agreement. Chicago will send Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple, and a second-round draft pick to the Pelicans.
Last year with New Orleans, Ball averaged 14.6 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 5.7 APG. He shot career-highs from three-point land (37%) and from the charity stripe (78%). Ball now joins the Bulls core of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic for what is hopefully going to be a special season in Chicago.
