Marc Berman of the New York Post has reported that New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball will sign with the Chicago Bulls. There have been many rumors surrounding Ball to the Chicago Bulls since the 2021 NBA Trade Deadline. It now seems that as soon as free agency opens up at 5:00 p.m. CDT that Ball will sign an offer sheet with the Bulls.
The Bulls’ pursuit of Ball isn’t over once the offer sheet is potentially signed. New Orleans could decide to match, keeping him in New Orleans. Though, KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reported the Chicago Bulls could offer the Pelicans draft capital and Tomas Satoransky in a sign-and-trade deal.
As rumors swirl, teams that appear to be interested in the oldest Ball brother are the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and the Charlotte Hornets. It seems that Ball has made up his mind and would like to play in Chicago. The Bulls have been looking to improve the point guard position and it seems they may have finally done it.
Nothing is official yet, but be ready Bulls fans. The next few days are going to be very busy.
