The Chicago Bulls formally announced their NBA Summer League roster and schedule this morning. The Bulls will kick off their Summer League slate on August 9 as they face the New Orleans Pelicans. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
Highlighting this year’s Summer League roster are Ayo Dosunmu, Patrick Williams, Devon Doton, and Marko Simonovic.
Dosunmu, a Chicago native and University of Illinois product, was the Bulls’ second-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Williams, the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, will also be suiting up for the Bulls to develop further following his rookie season in Chicago. Simonovic, the Bulls’ 2020 second-round draft pick, will also be participating in Summer League action after signing on with the Bulls for the 2021-22 season. Dotson, another Chicago native, will also play this summer following limited action in 11 games for the Bulls during the 2020-21 season.
Plenty of young talent will be on full display for the Bulls as they begin Summer League action. One player Chicago fans should watch closely is Patrick Williams. Many Bulls fans are looking for “The Paw” to make a serious jump in year two. Playing in the Summer League against rookies and other players trying to earn roster spots should allow Williams to showcase his full cupboard of talent.
