It’s been a long and winding road, but MLB’s Field of Dreams game between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees is now just a week away. Originally scheduled for August 2020, the first-ever MLB contest in Iowa had to wait an extra year due to logistical challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As anticipation continues to build for what will be one of the most aesthetically unique events in baseball history, we now know what the White Sox and Yankees will look like when they suit up in the middle of Iowa’s cornfields. Social media posts this morning revealed each team’s uniform for the Field of Dreams game.

Both teams will be throwing it back to 1919 for this event in conjunction with the garb donned in the famous Field of Dreams movie.

White Sox

The White Sox jerseys will feature a cream-colored base with navy blue pinstripes and a singular bold navy piping stipe near the bottom of each sleeve, plus a 1919 interlaced “SOX” left chest logo. The hats will maintain the same base and pinstripe colors as the jersey, minus the logo, and a navy blue bill. Needless to say, the South Siders’ getup will elicit movie flashbacks aplenty.

Yankees

The Yankees jerseys have a grey base boasting a road “New York” script font in navy blue across the chest with no white outline. The navy hats will feature a bulkier version of their famous “NY” logo in white. Both items are callbacks to the club’s 1919 look.

A Visual Masterpiece

Both teams’ uniforms are clean and crisp looks that play perfectly into the Field of Dreams theme and setting. The field and surrounding landscape will clearly be the main visual attractions, but the uniforms for each team will only add to the allure of this historic event.
