The Chicago Bears injury report continues to grow in lenth. This morning, offensive lineman Lachavious Simmons left practice with an injury. Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports Simmons is in the concussion protocol.
Simmons is the second offensive lineman to suffer an injury today alone. Rookie Larry Borom is now in the concussion protocol as well. These injuries leave the Bears without six of their offensive linemen, and they do not have a healthy left tackle on the roster.
Furthermore, the Bears added cornerback Desmond Trufant to the injury report with an apparent groin injury.
The Bears cut Kyle Fuller in the offseason and now have Trufant on the injury report. Their secondary is lacking in depth as Eddie Jackson still hasn’t been seen practicing either.
Finally, Teven Jenkins is still absent from practice and hasn’t been on the practice field at all. It’s becoming more likely that he will not be available for the Bears’ first preseason game. The Bears injury report continues to grow, which is not an ideal way to begin what will already be a difficult season.
