The Chicago Bears have a plethora of injuries on the offensive line. They are currently down six linemen at this point in training camp. The team looks to be adding a reinforcement, however, as sideline reporter Mark Grote reports that the Bears signed offensive lineman Gage Cervenka.
Cervenka played for Clemson until 2019 and then went undrafted in 2020. The Bears originally signed Cervenka in May of 2021. But a few weeks after, the team waived Cervenka to sign Adam Redmond.
Cervenka played in 46 games for the Tigers including over 1,700 snaps. The Clemson offensive line only allowed 13 sacks in his final year.
Cervenka was one of the physically strongest players to ever play for Clemson. Bringing his physicality and power into the mix is a fine addition to a depleted Bears’ offensive line.
