Brian Kelly and Notre Dame landed another 2022 recruit. Four-star wide receiver Tobias Merriweather from Cames, Washington committed on Wednesday. Merriweather fielded offers from Tennessee, Michigan, USC, Oregon, and Stanford.
“When I was there, it was a good experience,” Merriweather said of his visit to Notre Dame on June 11. “I had been there before when I was a freshman, so I had already seen the campus and gotten to know the coaches. Being there again, they treated me almost like a celebrity, which was kind of fun. But at the end of the day, they just told me kind of straight how it would be when I came and really got to know me, and I got to know some of the guys there.”– Tobias Merriweather
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound receiver is ranked as the #11 WR in the country and #75 recruit overall per 247 Sports. Merriweather will be the Irish’s 20th commit for the class. This brings the current Notre Dame 2022 class to number three in the nation.
Early projections have Merriweather scouted as a possible second- or third-round selection in a future NFL Draft. Irish fans should be extremely excited for this wideout who has good speed and incredible catch radius.
