The Chicago White Sox have placed left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon on the 10-day injured list due to left shoulder fatigue. In 19 starts for the White Sox this season, Rodon arguably has been the best pitcher on the staff. He owns a 2.38 ERA and an impressive 13.1K/9 across 109.2 innings.
Rodon was scheduled to start the Field of Dreams game Thursday, but his injury designation will bump Lance Lynn into that spot as Reynaldo Lopez makes a spot start in today’s series finale vs. the Minnesota Twins.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled RHP Matt Foster from Triple-A Charlotte. Last year, Foster seemed to be a vital piece to the White Sox bullpen. However, he has struggled mightily this season, resulting in split time between the big-league club and Charlotte.

The White Sox also announced the start of a rehab assignment for catcher Yasmani Grandal as part of today’s transactions. Grandal will head to Double-A Birmingham to begin testing out his surgically repaired leg. Grandal suffered the injury on July 5 when he tore a tendon in his left knee. On the season, Grandal owns a .188/.388/.436 slash line with 14 home runs and 38 RBIs.
