On Monday morning, Marquee Sports Network announced they will broadcast numerous minor league games from around the Cubs system. The Iowa Cubs, Tennessee Smokies, South Bend Cubs, and Myrtle Beach Pelicans will all have games televised on the network for the remainder of the 2021 season.
In wake of a lost Cubs season, fans can see the future as the Cubs’ prospects take the field. Iowa and South Bend will each have three televised games, with Tennessee receiving four and the Pelicans receiving two.
The next minor league broadcast is Thursday, August 19 when the South Bend Cubs take on the Quad Cities River Bandits. Games run all the way through Saturday, September 11 when Tennessee takes on the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Worth noting, the August 21 and 22 broadcasts for the Smokies and South Bend Cubs, respectively, will be aired as previously recorded broadcasts.
Although the big club is struggling in 2021, the minor league teams are promising and full of players who may be playing at Wrigley Field in the future. These games are worth tuning into for Cubs fans everywhere.
