Justin Fields Could See Time with Starters in Final Preseason Game

Bears’ rookie quarterback Justin Fields is likely to see time with the first unit in the preseason finale.

Following his team’s preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy declared that Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback in Week 1 of the regular season. However, that did not stop Nagy from commenting on his plans for Justin Fields, especially for next week against the Tennessee Titans in the preseason finale.

Nagy revealed that Fields may FINALLY get a chance to run the offense with the starters.

This development probably bodes well for both quarterbacks. Dalton being penciled in as the starter for the regular season allow him to sit out Week 3 of the preseason. As a result, Fields will slide in as QB1 against the Titans and get reps with other starters, something he hasn’t done much of during training camp. Hopefully the final preseason game can serve as preparation for Fields to eventually take over for Dalton during the season.
