Sean Evans, known for his popular role on the Complex show, Hot Ones, is a notable University of Illinois alumnus. Per the Illinois Basketball Twitter account, Evans will host Illini head coach Brad Underwood in the coming weeks.

Brad Underwood made his mark over the last two years as his Illini team rose to relevance and claimed a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season. Now, he looks to improve upon that success in 2021-22 as he coaches a potential top-10 team led by Kofi Cockburn, Trent Frazier, and Da’Monte Williams.

Expect Underwood to discuss several aspects of his highly touted Illinois team when he joins Hot Ones. The Fighting Illini have garnered recognition for their recent on-court triumphs, and Underwood appearing on such a popular show will only increase the program’s exposure.

To those unfamiliar with Evans’ show, this may seem like a gimmick to pass time in the offseason. But in the era of social media and its vast influence on the consumption of media regarding college athletics, Underwood making an appearance on such a popular show is a big deal for the Illinois basketball program.
