Cubs at Twins Series Preview: Probables, How to Watch, and More

Chicago heads to Minnesota with pitchers Zach Davies and Justin Steele set to take the mound for a quick two-game set.

Cubs Twins

The Chicago Cubs have a quick two-game set against the Minnesota Twins, starting Tuesday at Target Field.

The Cubs (57-75, fourth in NL Central) have lost three of their past four after a 13-1 loss to the AL Central Division-leading Chicago White Sox on Sunday. The North Siders were outscored 30-21 in the series against the White Sox.

While the Cubs are trying out young pitchers as starters, they’ve already discovered another player as a success story this season in Patrick Wisdom. The 30-year-old is two home runs shy of surpassing Kris Bryant’s Cubs rookie record of 26 home runs in 2015. Wisdom is hitting .259/.321/.586 with a 138 wRC+ in 275 plate appearances this season.

The Twins (58-73, fifth in AL Central) have won three of their past four, including two of three against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers. Minnesota is coming off a 3-2 road win against the Detroit Tigers in a makeup of a July 16 game that was postponed due to inclement weather.
