Ahead of a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Jimmy Lambert from Triple-A Charlotte.

In a corresponding move, the club optioned Matt Foster to Triple-A Charlotte.

With Lance Lynn and Lucas Giolito currently on the injured list, Lambert will enter the White Sox rotation to make his third spot start of the 2021 season in the series opener at Oakland.

Lambert has appeared in three games for the White Sox this season with the aforementioned spot starts coming on May 31 and August 1, both against the Cleveland Indians. The righty owns an 0-1 record and 9.00 ERA across the limited sample size of just eight innings at the MLB level in 2021. Lambert pitched to a 3-3 record and 4.98 ERA in 18 starts for the Charlotte Knights this season.
