Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez has suffered yet another injury that will cause him to miss time. The White Sox slugger was on the receiving end of an unfortunate foul ball off the bat of teammate Andrew Vaughn on Tuesday night. He did remain in the game for three more innings before being removed in the bottom of the fifth.
The word from White Sox manager Tony La Russa prior to Wednesday night’s ballgame is that Jimenez is suffering from a significant bone bruise and is going to miss some time.
The good news here is that initial x-rays taken after the game were negative. How much time Jimenez will miss due to the injury is currently unclear. The White Sox are set to play two more games in Oakland before returning home Friday night to take on the Boston Red Sox.
