Bears: Eddie Goldman’s Status For Sunday ‘Uncertain’

With yet another setback due to a lingering knee injury, Eddie Goldman may not be ready for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

When the Chicago Bears released their first injury report on Wednesday, many were relieved. For the first time in the regular season, starting defensive tackle Eddie Goldman participated in practice, albeit on a limited basis.

However, that sense of relief turned to worry on Thursday, with Goldman once again being held out of practice. Once again, due to a lingering knee injury.

After yet another setback, it would appear that Goldman’s status for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals is once again up in the air. While the veteran lineman played in the preseason, he unfortunately hasn’t gotten a chance to get back up to speed. Goldman missed the entirety of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 opt out.

In his absence, backups Angelo Blackson and Khyiris Tonga filled in for a majority of the defensive snaps. If Goldman is once again inactive on Sunday, expect them to once again take the reigns.

In addition to Goldman’s status, another defensive lineman to keep an eye on is Robert Quinn. Quinn participated on a limited basis for the second straight day on Thursday.
