Before the season, Matt Nagy noted that captains will be different week-to-week throughout the season. To little surprise, Chicago Bears‘ quarterback Andy Dalton was named a captain against his former team.
Dalton spent nine seasons in Cincinnati with the Bengals, amassing over 30,000 yards over those nine seasons. Dalton threw for 31,594 yards and 204 touchdowns. In addition, the Red Rifle threw 118 interceptions and made three Pro Bowls.
Although the storyline at the quarterback position this season surrounds Justin Fields and when he will play, Sunday’s game is still intriguing. Dalton has an opportunity to take down the team that drafted him in his first home game in Chicago. A quick way to get fans on your side in Chicago is to win at home, and the 33-year-old quarterback has that opportunity on Sunday.
