The Chicago Bulls have exercised their fourth-year option on combo guard Coby White and third-year option on forward Patrick Williams.

White, who will be entering his third year with the Bulls, will remain with the team through the 2022-23 NBA season. Last year, White averaged 15.1 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 4.8 APG. White shot 41% from the field and 35% from three-point range on 6.6 attempts per game. White began the 2020-21 NBA season as the starting point guard, though he was moved to the bench later on in the season. White is most effective when in a scoring role, which saw him move to the bench in favor of former Bull Tomas Satoransky. On June 10, 2021, the Bulls announced that Coby White had undergone successful shoulder surgery. He sustained the injury while participating in basketball activities away from the team.

Second-year forward Patrick Williams’ option was also exercised. Williams started all 71 games in his rookie campaign for the Bulls. Though he struggled at times, Williams showed fans and the Bulls’ brass flashes of brilliance. In the 2020-21 season, Willams averaged 9.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He shot 48% from the field, 39% from downtown on 1.9 attempts per game, and 72% from the charity stripe.

As the Bulls enter what they hope to be their most competitive season since 2016, these two players will be key pieces of the puzzle moving forward.
