The wait for the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise has been long and frustrating. Speculation is off the charts when it comes to Fantastic Beasts and where it will go next. The first film, ‘Where To Find Them’ came out in 2016, and ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ released in 2018. We’ll have waited four years when ‘The Secrets of Dumbledore’ finally comes out on April 15, 2022.
Eddie Redmayne is reprising his role as Newt Scamander and Jude Law is taking up the highly-touted challenge of playing Albus Dumbledore.
New Dumbledore, Who Dis?
Jude Law is a Hollywood veteran and Albus Dumbledore is one of the most beloved supporting characters of all time. Jude has a very difficult task ahead of him. He’ll no doubt endure a lot of scrutiny in how he portrays the late Hogwarts Headmaster.
In the photo above, Dumbledore teaches a group of students that are most likely inside Hogwarts. This film is depicting a much younger Dumbledore before he became Headmaster. It will likely dive into Dumbledore’s search for the Elder Wand, the Deathly Hallows, and more about his past that was only slightly described in the Harry Potter novels.
Postponement, Feedback, and The Secrets of Dumbledore
Originally, the studio wanted to release ‘The Secrets of Dumbledore’ already. The production company behind Fantastic Beasts, HeyDay Films, had their plans deviate when ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ received a fair amount of criticism and a mixed response. They postponed the film for more fine-tuning of the script. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world and it was delayed further. Now it appears the filmmakers are in post-production and are moving along swimmingly as they moved the projected released date up to April 15, 2022.
The internet knows little information about this plot. In theory, fans have discussed some intimate items surrounding this Fantastic Beasts film but discovered nothing concrete. In approximately seven months, we’ll discover what The Secrets of Dumbledore really are.
