The Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers series finale will have to wait. Due to inclement weather in the Detroit area, Wednesday’s game has been postponed and will be made up on Monday, September 27 at 12:10 PM Central Time.
The Tigers won the first two games of the series, so the White Sox will have to wait until early next week for a chance to stave off the sweep. Both teams originally had an off-day scheduled on the date of the now-makeup game.
The White Sox travel to Cleveland for a five-game series against the Indians beginning Thursday, so they will double back to Detroit to finish the set before returning to the South Side for one final homestand in the 2021 regular season.
The Tigers host the Royals for a weekend series beginning Friday, so Monday’s makeup against the Sox will mark their final home game of 2021 before they embark on a six-game road trip to close out the season.
The American League Central foes will clash again when the calendar turns to October as the White Sox host the Tigers on the final weekend of the regular season (October 1-3).
